Carissa Ross, MD, is recognized for her enthusiasm and dedication to helping women within an array of OB/GYN Services. Dr. Ross attended prestigious Baylor University in Waco, Texas, for her undergraduate degree. Then it was off to Oklahoma where she attended medical school at the University Of Oklahoma Health Science Center. After graduation, she returned to the Lone Star state where she completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at the Dallas Methodist Medical Center in 2006.
Providing medical care to teen girls is one of Dr. Ross’s special clinical interests. She recognizes that the transition from a pediatric environment to an adult OB/GYN clinic can be difficult and upsetting. In a caring and professional, manner Dr. Ross puts her youngest patients at ease and makes this transition more comfortable.
Dr. Ross is also proficient in the diagnosis and treatment of irregular bleeding. Heavy or irregular periods, bleeding between periods, an absence of bleeding, and post-menopausal bleeding are within her scope of expertise. Treatments may include endometrial ablation, one of the newer noninvasive procedures., and she is one of few Rogue Valley physicians who routinely performs laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomies. She also performs basic hysterectomies. Most women who experience heavy, prolonged, or irregular uterine bleeding will benefit from a discussion with Dr. Ross.
When out of the office, Dr. Ross enjoys the thrill of white water rafting, snow and water sports, and spending time with her chocolate lab, Penelope.
